Where you going on leave?

Yayyyyyyy Mr & I are on annual leave from work for next couple weeks. So what does one plan for such occasions? Why, riding of course!

If I can make it out on the bike every second day then I’m succeeding at life haha. Today we rode from Forest Lake to Blackbutt (approx 2 hours) for the sole purpose of taking the below photo 😜

You do what you want on your leave and I will do what I want LOL.

Also we finally got a photo of this little field we always pass between Samford and Dayboro but there is not space on the road for stopping. A friend of mines daughter is dating the guy whose family owns that land so I sorta know who they are. I just like the rows of plantings very Tuscan looking background.

I’m hoping to take my new bike out, the GSXR-1000 (didn’t today). Have been around the big block and to the local mall for a bit of a blast. Wow-wee I see myself getting into a LOT of trouble on it 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ hopefully my licence survives the ensuing naughtiness that is sure to be undertaken.

So much more power and stomach curdling fun to be had. The trip from 100 to 170 is nearly instant hence my concern for demerit points. It’s registered under Mr so he can afford a few naughties 😂😂😂 seeing as I’m carrying a few of his against the car that’s registered to me!

As expected, the minute I tried the Gixxa I knew what I was missing and boy do I miss not having it when riding Lil Boop. I still love my CBR500 and certainly getting back into it after the Gixxa it was like a comfortable old friend. I understand now why Mr says it’s like a little toy. It really is once you’ve gone big!

I feel like I will not lose to any cars and most bikes at the lights now. Bring them all on heh heh. See what I mean about trouble I see myself getting in?????

Anyway, back to today’s ride. Dropped daughter off at work in the city and headed to The Gap BP to fill up. Turned right to head towards Ferny Grove / Samford instead of going up Nebo and Glorious as it was drizzling earlier and I’m not confident on a wet or damp road. Sweet run out to Dayboro and over Mt Mee. No popo 👮‍♀️and not a lot of car traffic either. Saw zero bikes and took it easy on the hotmix due to residual damp patches.

Stopped at Kilcoy for fuel (body and bike) then headed out to Blackbutt which seems to be the most popular stock truck route cos it was effluent smells and stains all the fucking way there 🤢🤢🤢 as well as some very shit roadworks 🙄 long delays and power hungry lollipop holding traffic controllers.

Made it to Blackbutt and took our photos. Highway patrol rolled past while we there taking selfies and stuff, probably thinking oh look townies taking photos under the sign how original bahaha.

Came back and turned down Brisbane Valley Highway for lunch at Esk Hotel. Not too bad, really big shade seating area out back and food reasonably priced and tasty.

Hauled arse over Wivenhoe Dam and down the Warrego Highway home again. Shoulders: aching. Legs: aching. Eyes: droopy. Belly: full. Another successful day out ahhhh sleep will come easily tonight 😴
