Now where you off to?

Another days annual leave, another ride.

Took the GSXR-1K out yesterday on a run up Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious and home via Fernvale / Warrego Highway.

The thing about this run is you never get bored of it. Beautiful turns, areas for silly buggers and the cool mountain temp under the trees.

Being only the 3rd time riding it, I didn’t go fucking mental LOL – chill ride, letting the shit head on a grom and whoever else wanted to breeze past. I’m in no rush today guys.

Stopped in the shade to take a pretty pic of ‘The Girls’ while I love the look of both bikes I flip flop between preference for my blue/white and Mr’s matte black.

Both look and sound amazing, hard to pick a favourite as they each have their pros. Perhaps I like mine better since it’s slightly newer, Brembo brakes and loving on the blue accents (spools, braided brake lines, reflector wheel tape and brake fluid reservoir). Oh, and it’s mine haha.

Things like top speed and low down torque is not really what I’m looking for since at the top end of those scales I will likely never use to full capacity anyway 😂 #PussyGirl

Great to get out on a longer ride. Was sad to see a couple of Kwaka’s pulled over by an undercover cop car heading to Fernvale (in one of the roadworks sections). Don’t know if busted in the 40km/h zone and pulled over just out of it but I was just winding up to hoof it after the road works when I saw the flashing lights 😅 the sound burrrrrrrrhhhh as you decelerate in a hurry HAHAHA nothing better (well ok everything single thing is better than this!).

Not a lot of other traffic on the road. Absolute best time to go cruising 🥳.

Very. Bloody. Hot. Crawled into BP just as we got onto the Warrego Highway. Felt very dehydrated and hungry having passed up stopping at Fernvale Bakery earlier for food/drinks. Used the bathroom at BP but almost threw up and fainted in there.

Emptied a 1 litre Maximus fairly quickly and had a bite of Mr’s sausage roll as feeling woozy. Not ideal condition to be riding but highlights the need to stay hydrated if you are feeling hot or sweating a lot. Tick to both. Should have stayed at the servo a bit longer to let the electrolytes do their thing but elected to head home and into the aircon as soon as I could.

Coasted home on the motorway. A fun ride on the new bike now firmly under my belt. I can already see myself being more of a demon once I get fully comfortable on her. Can’t wait for more adventures.

There were times today lined up at the lights with a bunch of other bikes I felt like I was “one of the boys” with the oomph to keep up if needed. Look out on the line in future fellas, this lil bitch gonna bring her A game 😜
