Whereโ€™d she go?

Me: nowhere just been chilling and loving in G Force now I’m fully legal ๐Ÿ˜

Lil Boop (the CBR500) however has moved on now that I don’t ride it nor planned to ride it again. Couple of stray tears as she left, hopefully the new owner will enjoy her nimble cheekiness as much as I did.

We bought Lil Boop back in March 2017 for $4,000 and just under 20kms. It was a repairable write off with a few bumps and scratches (which I added to over the 2.5 years of ownership). I was very specific to Mr who was looking at it while I was at work: make sure it will ride ok for me, given shorter arms etc.

He made a great choice the bike was perfect for me. Well, after the seat was chopped and the lowering link applied ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The link eventually broke #CheapEbayShit but by then I was a more confident rider so just chucked it on the lowest setting for the rest of the time riding it.

Mr would always mock Lil Boop ‘it’s a little toy!’ every time he rode it ๐Ÿ˜‚. Not until I was on the big bike I realised what he meant. She was cute as a button and a solid, reliable bike.

Two and a half years and 47,000 kms later she was sold off for around half what we paid. I for sure got my $2k shortfall worth of fun out of it so I’m not worried about resale it’s all money before Christmas ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ.

Asked $2300 hoping to get $2k and ended up $2150. Yassssss bitch lol.

The buyer didn’t want to test ride it (Mr was all ready to kit up and follow him in case haha) just straight in, hand over cash and ride off. Being a polite Marketplace seller I did let the other interested buyers know it had sold, at least one disappointed but slow moving buyer missed out on a bargain.

I do love G Force an inappropriate amount haha but Lil Boop will always have a special place in my heart. She is where I learned to ride properly (not the same as a GAG50 in the backyard / up the street or taking Mr’s old bike around the block once) and the love affair with motorcycling became so deeply ingrained I will never stop as long as my body allows.

When it no longer allows sports bike, we go to naked or cruiser. When that option also disintegrates we look at a Spyder or bigger scooter. I know, hopefully I die before then ๐Ÿ˜†

Mr laughed at me being a sap about farewelling Lil Boop but it’s my first bike and he has bought / sold / crashed many more than me! Let me have my moment of sadness and seeing that space in the garage where she once lived. Might have room for a project bike after all ๐Ÿค”
