Been nearly 2 months riding G Force full time. And we are getting our shit together!
Mr recently changed my suspension to be a bit firmer as I was bouncing out of the seat just getting up the driveway. It has brought more stability to the bike while not giving up all the comfort of such a solid ride.
My confidence is growing and I’m starting to think and learn more about what lines I want to take around corners, the lean capabilities of the bike (and myself!) and how to harness the sheer excess of power.
Launches – still need more work but ooft she’s a beautiful winner on the green light. Y’all know how much I love my filtering π this is simply part 2 of that process. Finding that space between front wheel in the air and stalling is a fine line. The aerodynamics of a lowered bike help with that a lot but there are sneaky wheels slightly off at times π
Cornering – still shit and might stay that way for all eternity lol. Not that I don’t trust the tyres, the bike, the rider or the road. I just don’t want to crash her gorgeous body into the bitumen. Sad face won’t even cover it if I do. Slow and steady gently pushing myself more each time is my preferred approach. I won’t be bullied, shamed or nagged at for going the speed I feel most comfortable doing. Very much a big old get fucked to anyone that thinks I have anything to prove.
Long distance – ok ok ok, I am often riding with 1 hand or no hands on the bars. It’s a super bike, it feels like a super bike and my body is merely a tub o’ custard on wheels. I also have a LOT of padding back there. Significant. Refer to FB post where someone called me a fat cunt and told me to lose weight πππππππ besides that point, you will get sore after a bit. Regular stops even to get off and stretch before riding off again. I’ll allow it.
Fuel economy – no one buys a litre bike to conserve fuel. You can choose very fast or cheap. Rarely both on a 1000.
It’s a great bike. I know people think it’s too big for me. It is. The transition from LAMS to OPEN is a leap. I don’t have off road experience and I don’t have decades of regular road riding time under my belt. I know that. My reason for going straight to a super bike is purely based on not needing more power after 6-12 months that I have seen others suffer.
No different than wanting a decent LAMS bike so I wouldn’t get bored in the 2 years until I could sit my opens π€·π»ββοΈ and that was one of the best decisions I ever made!
